The Canberra Balloon Fiesta is a nine day long event organized in Australia. With over 50 hot air balloons from all over the world launch daily at dawn from the forecourt of Old Parliament House, Canberra Balloon Fiesta is a unique event of its kind. The balloons gradually inflate and transform into a myriad of shapes, sizes and colors, passing over Canberra's iconic national attractions & finally drift gently into the dawn skies.
Inspite of a large number of venues, the one at the foreground of Old Parliament House is the most popular one for this event. The Canberra Balloon Fiesta is an exquisite package of on site entertainment, activities, food and drink. Tracing its origin in 1986, this entertaining & exciting event is one of Australia's best Autumn Events. Based on the theme of balloon of numerous kinds and sizes, the Canberra Balloon Fiesta attracts a large number of visitors from all over the world. Since its start, the Canberra Balloon Fiesta has witnessed a large variety of balloons. Some of the unusual balloons that have participated in the festival in the past include a pair of dancing honey bees, Vincent Van Gogh's head, a windmill, a tropical tree and a Scottish bagpiper. Skilled balloon pilots and crews from various parts of Australia and the world participate in the Canberra Balloon Fiesta.
