The Great American Beer Festival is an annual event hosted by the Brewers Association of Denver, Colorado in U.S.A. It's a three-day event held through September 16 to September 18. People come from all over the world to enjoy the Great American Beer Festival. More than 2,000 different American beers, entered by almost 500 domestic breweries across 78 categories mark the grand stature of this beer bash.
Tracing its origin in 1982, the Great American Beer Festival had 22 participating breweries in the first edition. This event was originally created by Charlie Papazian in Boulder, Colorado (U.S.A). The festival involves a fierce competition between various brewries to present the best beer from their store. Over 100 beer judges from the United States and abroad evaluate beer in the associated competition, ultimately judging 3,300 beers . Gold, silver and bronze medals in 78 beer-style categories are awarded, though not every medal is necessarily awarded in each category. Along with more than 2,000 different American beers, 500 or so international beers are also presented on the festival. Besides this, there are other highlights also. Lectures and classes are organized telling in how to be a beer judge. Food and fun is endless at Great American Beer Festival.
