The Greenbelt festival is one of the most awaited celebrations in England. It's basically a nomadic festival or more rationally rendered as a festival of arts, faith and justice. Since its start in the year 1974, the Greenbelt festival has seen many us and downs but the essence of celebrating humanity is still standing with its head held high. The event is organized every year in the month of August featuring a number of interesting events.
The Greenbelt festival has been the center of attraction for the biggest names of Christian music and many mainstream musicians. They usually play rock, folk and pop music at Greenbelt festival and the star performers include the likes of U2, Moby, Cliff Richard, etc. Besides this, Greenbelt is also a preferred venue by a large number of famous Christian speakers for teaching and discussion around (but not exclusively within) the Christian faith. The most notifying feature of this festival is the fact that the festival has so far been held at six different locations in England. Inspite of such tremendous instability, Greenbelt festival has cam off an age from a Christian music festival to its current secular status of being attended largely by non-Christians. In recent times, Greenbelt links to the NGO Christian Aid, thefestival has become heavily involved in campaigns for trade justice. It's actually a Christian showcase for performing arts, visual arts and alternative worship.
