The Paleo Music Festival is one of the most awaited events in Europe. It;s held every year in Switzerland and is rated as one of the biggest events of its kind in the country. The Paleo festival has evolved as the center of attraction for musicians and music fans from all over the world. It's a six day long gala of music and fun with an extended variety of participating musicians. The next edition of Paleo festival is scheduled to be held from July 19 to July 24, 2011.
Paleo traces its origin in 1976, when it started on a small scale as the This first edition was held by the name of Nyon Folk Festival, held near the Lake Geneva and featured only two stages. Since then, the festival has risen manifolds by having a total of six stages and involving many international artists also. Performances take place randomly on these stage namely La Grande Scene (the Main Stage), Le Chapiteau (the Circus Tent), Le Club Tent (the Club Tent), La Crique (the creak - now called 'La Ruche'), Le Dome (the Dome) and FMR (regional bands and free stage). Other attractions of this festival includes camping, where the onsite camping grounds during the festival duration. The final main stage concert is preceded by a great firework display with music. As a matter of fact, the Paleo festival has become an international event with a wide audience and shooting popularity. Infact, it is considered to be the second largest music festival in Europe, second only to Sziget festival.
