Ravinia festival is one of the oldest outdoor music festival in the United States of America. Started way back in the year 1904, the Ravinia festival is a one stop destination to enjoy music, picnics, romance in candle light and have loads of fun. It's held at a private park - Ravinia Park in Highland Park, Illinois with a variety of outdoor and indoor performing arts facilities. The festival holds the proud honor to be the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra since 1936.
The Ravinia festival involves a series of outdoor concerts and performances held every summer from June to September. Different sections of the festival venue includes The Pavilion, The Martin Theatre and Bennett Gordon Hall. The Pavilion is an open-air theater where all major music events and concerts are held. Chamber music, semi-staged opera performances, Martinis at the Martin cabaret series and other intimate shows are held at the Martin theatre. The Bennett Gordon Hall is the home of the Steans Institute for Young Artists, Rising Stars series etc. It's also used for pre-concert discussions and preview concerts. The Ravinia festival has evolved as a platform to enjoy refreshing music, a picnic time, time with your beloved companion in beautiful lawns and a candle light time under the shadows of twinkling stars in the evening.
