Sculpture Key West is one of the most awaited exhibitions in United Stated of America. It is basically an annual exhibition of contemporary outdoor sculpture located in Key West, Florida, U.S.A. The exclusive exhibition is focused on a sole mission to be an important platform for contemporary sculpture with utmost international recognition. Alongside, the Sculpture Key West focuses on educating and inspiring the community of the Florida Keys.
It's a nationally recognized exhibition, showcasing international and world-class artists. The SCW traces its origin in the year 1995, when a local sculptor Jim Racchi called on some local sculptors to install their work on the seawall facing the sunset at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. The venture worked out wonders as more artists wanted to join the informal exhibition in the next year. Racchi tried to embrace the event with public interest. For this purpose, he sent out postcards of the exhibition, inviting public masses to have a glimpse of the work. At that time, the show was named as "Art in the Park" operating on a feeble budget. The main highlight of he show was immense hard work by the participating workers and a strong local support. In the year 2002, the exhibition became a not-for-profit. It was only in the year 2005 that it was given the existing name of Sculpture Key West. Some renowned participants over the time are Robert Chambers, Karlis Rekevics, Monika Goetz, Robert Hickman, Luisa Caldwell, Ralph Provisero, Gerhard Fousek, Eliza Proctor etc.
