T in the Park is a much awaited music festival held every year in Scotland, United Kingdom. This annual feast of non stop music holds recognition as one of the major music festivals in U.K around the second weekend of July . The festival is named after its main sponsor, the brewing company Tennents. The 2009 edition featured more than 120 acts including Blur, Snow Patrol, The Killers, Kings of Leon, Manic Street Preachers, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds and Nine Inch Nails.
The musical gala of T in the Park traces its origin in 1994, when it was started as a two-day festival. Earlier it was held at Strathclyde Park, but since 1997 the festival has shifted to a disused airfield in Balado, in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. Since 2007 the festival has been elongated over three days. The event features mainly seven stages of music along with large camping areas to meet the requirements of the majority of festival-goers who stay for the duration of the event. Other highlights include a large funfair, complete with Big Wheel, concession stalls and shops. T in the Park. In recent years, the festival has shared much of its lineup with Oxegen, a festival that takes place on the same weekend in County Kildare, Ireland. Acts usually play T in the Park one day and Oxegen the next or vice versa. In 2010, the festival has been headlined by Muse, Eminem and Kasabian.
