The Proms is a famous music festival held in London, United Kingdom. This bonanza of music is held in summer season with over 100 concerts and event sparkling the air of London with musical nodes. The most dominant part of this annual musical feast is classical, but it has other fans also. A large majority like the scores from films or musicals, more than they fancy a symphony or concerto. The main highlight of The Proms are the performances by fresh artists whose name are not even recognizable.
The Proms music festival is held in a series of chamber concerts but the main venue for this event is the Albert Hall. This epic hall hosts 70 concerts of its own providing a grand opportunity to listen out in the open rather than in the hall. The Proms is actually a democratic event in which people have have to buy their ticket for an event of their choice on the day itself. However there are people who go to every concert or have a season ticket, but the process could be more democratic if it didn't exclude people who have to go to work in the morning. Passing on the road by but with a view of little grey haired old ladies in a neat queue is a pleasant site. In earlier times, people used to stand for the performances promenading around the hall and having a little indoor picnic. But nowadays, seated tickets are also available. It has been tagged as "world's largest classical music event.
